Russian official says no decision on currency borrowers yet

MOSCOW, Jan 28 (PRIME) -- The Kremlin is aware of problems that foreign currency borrowers are facing, but has no ready-made solutions, president’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters on Thursday.

“We know that such problem really exists,” he said.

The situation with foreign currency borrowers worsened in January, when the Russian ruble depreciated against the U.S. dollar and the euro on the back of low oil prices.

“There are really those, who found themselves in a very uneasy situation. We should not forget that this was a choice and calculation of those people, who undertook obligations precisely on these conditions, which now lead to a very difficult situation,” he also said.
